I have been seeing Dr. Fitzsimmons for five years. Recently I tore my Achille’s tendon, had surgery, and even more pain. The doctors decided it was from my lower back and tried all kinds of injections and physical therapy. Then my knee and hip began hurting because of the way I was walking, and I couldn’t wear shoes with backs because I couldn’t stand the pain of anything touching my heel. I now see Dan on a weekly basis for acupuncture and, for the most part, my pain is gone. He has also helped me greatly with depression and relaxation. I can do this because he is extremely flexible with his appointment schedule, and his rates are more than reasonable. My traditional doctors failed, but acupuncture has not. Additionally, he is incredibly kind and full of ideas about issues. When asked for a donation to a homeless shelter fund raiser, he gave 20 (!) free sessions. During the eighteen (18) months that I have had Acupuncture from Dr. Fitzsimmons, my overall health has improved beyond the point where I ever thought possible. I am in a stressful job and family situation. I also have several chronic medical complaints. I was troubled for years by severe heartburn which was cured, and I mean completely eliminated by Dr. Fitzsimmons in four (4) visits. I had ongoing insomnia and after about 1 month of treatment I was able to get full nights sleep.
Due to an accident at home I had a shoulder separation with resulting painful tendonitis. With one treatment, Dr. Fitzsimmons was able to reduce the pain and free up the joint to the level I could use my computer again.

Prior to seeing Dr. Fitzsimmons for Acupuncture, I had attended an appointment with my Physician discussing recent irritability and stress as my primary complaint. The Dr. recommended hormone testing and it was revealed the Prolactin level was outside the normal range. This was rather concerning as it could quite possibly be an indicator for a Pituitary Tumor. Well, I did some research and it appears that high stress levels can also be a differential diagnosis. I made an appointment at The Sanctuary and saw Dr. Fitzsimmons twice per week to address stress, irritability and anxiety. I had a repeat test 2 months later and my results went from the original 26 (high) to 18 which was well within the normal range. Nothing else in my life had changed other than adding acupuncture as a treatment!
